Hi, Friends!

As you know, Kerry and I started Royal Rangers International (RRI) in 2002 to establish, strengthen, and serve the growing Royal Rangers programs around the world. You may be surprised to learn that Royal Rangers is now in 73 countries, in all 5 AGWM regions, and that 2/3 of the programs in other nations are co-ed. Many children and young people are coming to Christ as a result of this dynamic ministry.

Earlier this year we held the 5th annual RRI Council meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This event took place April 22 - 24, 2008, and was hosted by Jim Guneratnam, the RRI Representative for Asia Pacific. The meeting was immediately followed by the first ever regional conference for Royal Rangers in Asia Pacific. Jim, who has been actively involved in the Royal Rangers of Malaysia for years, has been quietly working behind the scenes to promote and revitalize Rangers across the whole region.

Such regional conferences have worked extremely well wherever they have been instituted. Examples of this include the Seminario de Actualización Latinoamericano for Latin America and the Caribbean in 2006 as well as the Africa Summit held in 2007. In fact, the annual EuroLeader Conference has been one of the key reasons behind the strong unity and cooperation among the Ranger nations of Europe where Jukka Piirainen is coordinator.

We are so excited about the great things ahead for the development of Royal Rangers in Asia Pacific because of this Summit. This is just another example of how our partnership together is determining the destiny of nations! Thank you for your faithfulness in friendship and support.
