Historic Regional Royal Rangers Conference Coming Next Month!

Normally Kerry and I devote our monthly ministry update to recent-past highlights. This month, however, we want to place the spotlight on an historic conference coming up next month.
I n February, Royal Rangers in Latin America & the Caribbean will hold a conference in Orlando, Florida to introduce program and curriculum revisions to the Spanish Royal Ranger leaders in Mexico, Central & South America, and the Caribbean.
The goal of these changes is to resource local Royal Rangers leaders with high-end resources with the required flexibility to accommodate the many different church models that exist throughout the region. The updates will also encourage greater unity and cooperation among the nations using the program, motivate less developed nations to greater commitment, and reinforce the spiritual foundations of the ministry. These tools will empower leaders throughout the region to reach, teach, and keep more boys for Jesus Christ.
Iglesia El Calvario, where Saturnino Gonzalez is pastor, will host the conference. Invited to attend are National Commanders and key national Royal Rangers leaders per the National Commanders invitation. We have also extended a special invitation for the General Superintendent to attend, or his designate from the Executive Presbytery. Missionaries who have an active involvement or a strong interest in the Royal Ranger ministry in their country are also invited to attend.
The conference is expected to cost approximately $300 per person and includes food, lodging, local transportation, conference materials, seminar video, a one-day pass to Universal Studios, and more. Special guests include Dick Nicholson, Regional AGWM Director, Martin Seiler of Stuttgart, Germany who leads the world’s largest outpost with over 1,000 members, Richard Mariott, U.S. National Commander, among others.
SAL participants will receive a commemorative patch (design shown) for their Ranger uniform, along with many other awards and certificates in recognition of what they will learn and accomplish at the conference. Attendees will be resourced with materials and a specially produced video to return to their respective country to teach and implement the new program.
Statistics indicate that there are 87 million unsaved boys under age-eighteen in Latin America & the Caribbean. To date, the Royal Rangers curriculum has been useful in growing the ministry to reach 45,000 boys. The goal of the National Commanders is to use these new materials to grow Royal Rangers to over 250,000 in the next ten years!
As we approach this historic conference, National Commanders are extremely excited about what God is going to do with Royal Rangers throughout our region in the years ahead!
We want every National Commander from the region present at the SAL. PRAY that they are able to receive the U.S. Visa to gain entry to our nation. Also PRAY that God will provide the financial means to attend.
GIVE toward this historic conference. We are short $5,000 to produce the video that each National Commander and staff will use to transition their leaders to the new program. This is a vitally important element. The leaders who will attend the conference represent a small percentage of our leaders throughout the region. This audio-visual tool is their means of receiving the information. Please consider helping those who are not privileged to attend with this medium of communication.
Again, and most important, PRAY! One National Commander expressed his enthusiasm for the new curriculum in this way: “In ten years we will look back on our current program materials and refer to it as a machete, and the new as a chain saw.” Please pray that the conference is well attended by the right people to implement these improvements in each nation so that millions of boys come to Christ!
